Introduction
Selecting an HR platform for Capra Tek presents a significant challenge due to the need to identify the best system for the company’s requirements, choose from numerous available options, and ensure employees are properly trained on the new system. However, implementing an HR platform offers numerous cost-effective benefits. Efficient HR software enables companies to maximize resource use, align management objectives with employee performance, manage staff turnover, and maintain a competitive edge while sustaining high customer satisfaction levels (Tarlow, n.d.). Given that Capra Tek is steadily losing scientists, the company requires a platform that facilitates candidate applications, performs demographic assessments, and helps track employees’ career aspirations. This memo will explore various HR platforms and provide a recommendation for Capra Tek.
Platform Capabilities and Department Needs
Introducing an HR platform simplifies employee management (Bennett, 2020). Capra Tek, as a medium-sized technology company, needs a streamlined HR platform to reduce time spent on administrative tasks and instead focus on employee satisfaction (Bennett, 2020). Numerous upgrades are necessary in the HR department, including restructuring daily tasks to boost efficiency. These tasks include evaluations, recruitment, and training—all areas that would benefit from an improved system. Eventually, Capra Tek will need payroll capabilities and solutions for training both managers and employees. The proposed HR platform will organize confidential files more efficiently and expedite the training and reporting process, reducing the time spent submitting paperwork.
Capra Tek faces several challenges that highlight the need for a new HR platform. One issue is helping employees meet their career goals within the company. Furthermore, the company struggles with career fulfillment, as many scientists are recruited from other firms. Capra Tek seeks a profitable solution for attracting top talent, retaining staff through education and training opportunities, and providing competitive wages. Below are two HR systems that were evaluated for Capra Tek’s needs.
Clear Company
Clear Company is an HR platform designed to manage the entire employee lifecycle, offering unparalleled planning, enhanced hiring experiences, smooth onboarding, goal alignment, and performance management across departments (Clear Company, 2021). This platform provides an applicant tracking system with a 90% hiring success rate, mobile-friendly paperless onboarding, performance management tools, employee engagement features, and workforce planning and analytics (Clear Company, 2021). Additional features include social sharing tools, employee recognition templates, one-click background checks, and bulk email capabilities for notifications and reminders. Recently, Clear Company was named the “Most Loved” HR software on the market, with user reviews praising its easy navigation and user-friendly interface (Clear Company, 2021).
Workday
Workday is an award-winning, cloud-based platform that integrates finance, HR, and planning solutions into one system. It offers a wide range of products, such as Human Capital Management, Talent Management, Payroll and Workforce Management, Analytics and Reporting, and Financial Management. Workday is well-suited for both medium and large companies, providing flexibility, quick implementation, and adaptability to a constantly evolving business environment (Workday, 2021). Capra Tek would benefit from this platform’s deep insights and its adaptability to future changes.
Recommendation
Both Clear Company and Workday are robust HR platforms capable of streamlining HR tasks at Capra Tek. However, I recommend Clear Company as the more suitable choice for Capra Tek. While Workday is an excellent system, it offers more features than necessary for a medium-sized company like Capra Tek. The company needs a simple, easily implementable system that enhances the efficiency of its daily tasks. Clear Company offers an applicant tracking system to assist with recruitment and a streamlined onboarding process. It also provides an employee engagement tool for recognition and culture promotion, employee appreciation, and performance tracking, making it easier to identify training and development opportunities. Overall, Clear Company delivers the solutions Capra Tek needs to hire, retain, and engage top talent while maintaining its current staff.
